I’ve been wearing a previous pattern of this hat for several years - hibiscus on a dark background. I love it. Fishing, swimming, boating. Fabric has lasted and the peak is as firm as it was when new. I bought the Maelstrom for my 90 year old dad so he look really cool on a cruise and not lose his hat in the breeze. It’ll be a winner.

These frames were the right size for my (narrow? Slim?) head shape. Previous models I've owned were so durable, I sat on it, bent the hinges, simply bent them back and carried on. Great polarisation that cuts the glare.

While in Japan this Jan/Feb winter 2026 season I was driving in a blizzard, thankfully wearing my Carve puffer jacket, I had to stop and clear the ice that was building up on the windscreen wipers, the temperature outside was minus -19 degrees, inside the car we had the temp set at +30 trying to keep warm, this was creating ice blocks on the wiper blades. The Carve Puffer Jacket was fantastic, keeping me warm in the extreme conditions, just thought I should write this review, is a great jacket.
